Levels of Promotion

Level 1 – Passive Promotion

Simply give away Wine UnClub member cards at no charge to your best customers and sell the membership program to new in-store customers ($25) as they check out of your store. Download and print out the newsletter from the National Wine UnClub web-site (www.thehomewinecourse.com). Display this prominently in your store (with your store name stamped on it) as well as having your employees hand them out to customers as they check out. Complete and have store managers complete The Home Wine Course on their own, being sure to respond to their interest as they research new wine experiences.

Level 2 – Moderate Promotion

Do all of the above plus utilizing a mass mailing of the National Wine UnClub newsletter to the potential new customers in your area. This mailing should have your store name stamped prominently on the newsletter and might possibly contain an introductory promotional statement about your store (including a 'Specials' list if you wish about your recommended wines). Organize supplier-supported in-store tastings around The Home Wine Course program to further facilitate your staff's increasing knowledge about the subject. Require all staff to complete The Home Wine Course series of reviews to your satisfaction.

Level 3 – Assertive Promotion

Do all of the above plus utilizing a campaign of public wine tastings or classes based on The Home Wine Course “Around the World with Wine” text either in-store (if allowed in your area) or off-property. Offer a 'wines of the month' program based on Home Wine Course for your customers. Initiate a local program for the National Wine UnClub Wine Olympics series in your area with the aid of local restaurateurs benefiting the charity of your choice. Public service and philanthropy are a great way to build your business image and profitability in your community! (More details regarding how to set up these classes and the Wine Olympics tasting series are available upon request from the National Wine UnClub headquarters.)
